Highights

He belongs to the canonical order of the Holy Sepulcher, the only one of the Order that survives in Spain. The monastery was conceived for the retirement of noble ladies and was linked to the Aragonese and Navarrese monarchies. Next to the monastic quarters stands the church of San Nicolás de Bari, which has been part of the monastery since the 14th century. . The current church is from the 17th century. In 1809 the monastery was on the verge of being blown up by the French, but after a heroic resistance in which the monastery was killed. More than half of the population of Zaragoza, the city, surrendered. avoiding its destruction

This monastery called  also  of the Resurrection was   founded in the 13th century by the daughter of King Teobaldo II of Navarra. It is  the only example of Mudejar conventual architecture that has survived in the city to this day
