Highights

The palace was designed by the English architect Seldon Wornun  in 1893 at the request of Queen María Cristina of Austria in style” “English cottage”, the typical country houses of the English nobility. After the death of the queen, the estate passed into It became the property of Alfonso XIII. It was expropriated during the Second Republic and years later returned to the Bourbons. It was the summer residence and also the school of Juan Carlos de Borbón. The city council bought part of the property in 1972  and since 1973 it has been the headquarters of the Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country. Some  concerts of the musical fortnight. The views of Bahía de la Concha are spectacular from its gardens where Eduardo Chillida's sculpture “El Abrazo” is located. dedicated to the San Sebastian painter Rafel Ruiz Balerdi

This palace was created for the summer stays of the Royal Family at the end of the 19th century. Created in English style, the views of the Bahia beach and the island of Santa Clara are impressive.
