The façade of the monastery is very simple. Its plateresque façade stands out with the image of San Martiño. To overcome the unevenness of the terrain, a hill was built. the beautiful access staircase, inspired by that of the Cathedral. At the end of the 15th century it became in the richest and most powerful monastery in Galicia. After the confiscation of 1835 it had different uses and since 1868 it has housed the headquarters of the Major Seminary of the Compostela archdiocese.
