Highights

We begin the Excursion to Toledo from Madrid on a bus with all the comforts accompanied by our guide ;a bilingual. Upon arriving at the imperial city of Toledo we will enter the interior of its wall accompanied by an expert local guide who will lead us through the city. through the city through its history and legends, with explanatory stops at its main monuments and places of interest such as the grandiose Toledo Cathedral or the Jewish Quarter >, a valuable cultural treasure in the form of a labyrinth made up of streets, alleys, walkways and sheds, etc.
We continue our journey towards El Escorial and its imposing Royal Monastery declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, as well as the such as the monumental complex of the Valley of the Fallen located a few kilometers away, in another beautiful enclave of the Madrid mountains.
We begin the tour to El Escorial with the guided tour to the Royal Monastery of Escorial that Philip II ordered. build as a Residence and Royal Pantheon. A symbol of the greatness of the Spanish Empire, the palace-monastic complex is an impressive construction of great historical-artistic and architectural value that houses jewels such as the Basilica, the Pantheon with the tombs of almost all the Kings of Spain since Emperor Charles V, the Royal Library or the palace rooms occupied by the different reigning dynasties.
After the guided tour of El Escorial we will have free time before continue the route to the nearby Cuelgamuros Valley where the highest Christian cross in the world (150 meters) announces the location of the Valley of the Fallen, an extraordinary and controversial work of architecture, sculpture and engineering erected in honor of those who fell in the Civil War that gave way to a long period of dictatorship in Spain. We visited the interior of the basilica excavated in the rock and admired the grandeur of the monumental complex and the natural setting that houses it, a protected natural space of great ecological value and singular landscape beauty.
