The collection begins with a set called Old Masters, with works from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, and whose main piece is “ ""Santa Marina de Zurbarán."" The bulk of the collection is found between the movements of romanticism and costumbrism, preciousness, realism and the first years of the 20th century.

We can see landscapes from the romantic and traditional period, the origins of flamenco, patios filled with flowers or pilgrimages. We must highlight the expressive intensity in the realistic and precious painting of Mariano Fortuny or the portraits of Raimundo de Madrazo. In the End of the Century section there are works by great artists of the 19th and 20th centuries who contributed an international vision, such as Sorolla or Casas. Works such as “ ""The Bonaventure"" by Julio Romero de Tormes, an oil painting in which two women appear sitting on a windowsill in Córdoba, in front of the square where the Christ of the Lanterns is located.

Today the museum's activity is complemented by both temporary exhibitions and educational activities, cycles and events.
