  The Customs Palace, was born As a tobacco factory, it went It became a customs office, headquarters of the Provincial Council and the Government Subdelegation until today, which is the headquarters of the Museum of Malaga. It is a square building whose padded part draws attention and right on the façade that faces the Park we find some very tall palm trees that give the building a unique appearance.  Speaking of the Museum, the archeology collection is Organized into seven thematic blocks, there are unique pieces such as the Lorinigiana collection, the Neanderthal bone remains from Zafarraya, the trousseau from the Dólmens, the ceramic trousseau and medieval wood from the Alcazaba, among others. . In the art collections, it has pieces from the deposits made by the Academy of Fine Arts of San Telmo, the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía National Art Museum and although it has religious works from the 16th to 17th centuries attributed Luis de Morales, Murillo, Escuela de Rivera or Pedro de Mena stands out for its 19th century pictorial collection, which includes works by authors such as Muñoz Degrain or Enrique Jaraba, and paintings by artists such as Sorolla or Salas. It also has two of Picasso#39s first works: “ Study of old men” and “ The old man with the blanket.

Long description

    The museum is located in the Customs Palace built in 1788, on land reclaimed from the sea. It houses the works of two museums: The Museum of Fine Arts and the Provincial Archaeological Museum. It has more than 15,000 references in archeology and a large pictorial collection produced in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition is completed with a visitable warehouse that is inserted in the public visit as a pioneering experience.
