The Zaragoza River Aquarium is the largest river aquarium in Europe, it has more than 2.5 million liters of water, divided into 70 aquariums and aqua-terrariums (the largest freshwater tank is located ;s largest in Europe, with 1.7 million liters of water, and a depth of 9 meters) and aqua-terrariums. All of them are distributed in 3,500 square meters of facilities. The Zaragoza River Aquarium proposes a journey along 5 different rivers that belong to 5 different continents: Nile (Africa), Mekong (Asia), Amazon (America), Murray-Darling (Ocean) ;a) and Ebro (Europe). Although the vast majority of the animal species exhibited are fish, other vertebrates are also represented, such as reptiles (alligator, snakes, turtles and monitor lizards, among others), mammals (otter, marmoset), amphibians ( frogs) and invertebrates (different species of corals, anemones, stick insects).
The Zaragoza river aquarium was one of the thematic pavilions at Expo 2008 and hosted the exhibition Landscapes of water. It has a capacity of about two million liters of water and is home to about 350 species. Its architect was Álvaro
