After the “Edict of Milan”, the Church went from hiding to being another representative of the official Roman world, adopting for its cults a model of a civil building: the basilica. With this, the architecture adapts to the ritual, that is, the elements that make up the basilica correspond to a liturgical and symbolic function.
The temple is formed by a central body of three naves separated by pillars, the most dominant characteristic being the existence of two opposing apses, a characteristic characteristic of some North African constructions. Next to one of them is a very interesting baptismal font with a quadrilobed plan, arranged for the rite of baptism by immersion, along with another rectangular one of smaller dimensions.
Associated with the temple there is a necropolis with nearly two hundred tombs that was in use between the 3rd and 8th centuries.

Being able to reach more than 1,500 years old, it is, without a doubt, one of the most brilliant archaeological manifestations of early Christianity. The temple is formed by a central body of three naves separated by pillars, the most dominant feature being the existence of two opposing apses, a characteristic of some North African constructions. Next to one of them there is a baptismal font with a quadrilobed plan, arranged for the rite of baptism by immersion next to another rectangular one of smaller dimensions.
Associated with the temple there is a necropolis with nearly two hundred tombs.
