Highights

The inauguration of the museum dates back to 1792, thanks to the initiative of the Secretary of King Charles IV. After multiple locations, it reopened in 1932 at its current headquarters, today the Navy Headquarters, located in the heart of Paseo del Arte.  The rooms are arranged chronologically, they contain historical objects, such as weapons, books, coins, etc., ranging from the 15th century to the present. Its main mission is to acquire, investigate, communicate and exhibit for educational and contemplation purposes, pieces, sets and collections of historical, artistic, scientific and technical value related to the activity. naval, in order to disseminate  the maritime history of Spain, contribute to safeguarding its traditions, and promote national maritime awareness.
