Highights

It houses excellent collections of 19th century paintings, with works by artists such as Francisco de Goya, Federico Madrazo or Antonio Esquivel; beautiful landscapes of Villamil; traditional portraits by Leonardo Alenza and some by romantic painters such as Valeriano Bécquer. In addition, furniture from the Romantic era is exhibited, as well as objects such as pianos or porcelain, all of them recreating the atmosphere of Romanticism, a cultural movement that, during the first half of the 19th century, shook the city. the hearts of young artists, intellectuals and politicians

It was the palace of the Marquis of Matallana, built in1776 and houses a collection of paintings, furniture and decorative arts of the 19th century, which recreates the daily life and customs of the high bourgeoisie during Romanticism, as well as as the main protagonists of this cultural movement in Spain.
