Before Madrid was a capital of large avenues and boulevards, its map was made up of small streets and passageways, which today take us back to times of swordsmen and rogues.

Its name is due to the fact that they were located here. the knife makers' workshops that provided material to the butchers of the Plaza Mayor, where the Casa de Carnicería is located, which was the general meat warehouse
