In the center of Barcelona, in the Mornau Palace, a building built in the 15th century and remodeled by the modernist Raspall in 1908, is the center of the exhibition that shows the past, the present and the future of the cannabis plant and its incredible potential as a versatile resource, with industrial, nutritional, medical, sacral and recreational purposes. It showcases rare artifacts from all over the world, spanning all aspects of cannabis culture, that its founder, Ben Dronkers, has collected over the past 40 years. One can see unique antique master paintings by Rembrandt's contemporaries, devices used for hemp processing, botanical prints, pipes from around the world, 19th century medical marijuana bottles, rare books from 1950s craze, hemp ropes, vintage and modern textiles, pop culture paraphernalia, etc. And multimedia exhibits were added with short films dedicated to the political, historical and industrial aspects of cannabis.
The museum's collection consists of more than 12,000 items related to cannabis. From cultivation to consumption, from ancient ritual to modern medicine, all aspects of cannabis in human culture are represented in some way.
