Casa Amatller together with the neighboring Casa Batlló; by Gaudí and Casa Lleó Morera de Domènech i Montaner are part of the “apple of discord” from Barcelona. All three are renovations made on buildings that already existed, with Casa Amatller being the first of all. It is the typical urban Gothic house, this means that what is an apartment building has the air of a single-family mansion. Its façade is Full of symbolism and decorative elements, among which the stepped finish stands out, making it one of the most admired facades in the city. Beyond Due to the aesthetic and artistic value of this auction, this area was designed to house Antoni Amatller's photography studio, since the dangerous nature of the components of photography forced these rooms to be kept as close as possible. ;s possible separate from neighboring houses, thus creating an independent and very beautiful floor that accommodated one of the owner's great hobbies.

The access doors on the ground floor, the gallery on the main floor and the windows are finished with Gothic sculptural frames. In order to identify the building with its owner, Puig i Cadafalch designed iconography with sculptures that evoke each of the promoter's activities (industry, arts and collecting) and sgraffito of almond branches, symbol of the Amatller surname.

This construction by Puig i Cadafalch, a contemporary of Gaudí, combined The neo-Gothic style with a stepped finish inspired by the houses of the Netherlands. The combinations of materials, colors and decorative techniques create a chromaticism that makes the front of the house stand out artistically to this day.
