Highights

The work that its architect started,  It was restored by the famous architect Aníbal González, also the author of the maestronte museum, the chapel with an altarpiece by the Sevillian sculptor Pedro Roldán and in front of which all the bullfighters pray before going out into the ring, and the social headquarters. of the Royal Maestranza de Caballería, with a beautiful library.

The main façade has as its center the Prince's Gate that began in the 19th century. in the mid-18th century, when King Philip V decided to that Prince Felipe de Borbón had the position of Big Brother of the institution that owned the arena. Through this door, the successful bullfighters leave on their shoulders and its interior corresponds to the Prince's Box, for the exclusive use of the Royal Family.

The square has 14 doors and is structured in three rings: the barrier, the covered stand and the stairs that give access to the covered stand. It also has three stables, a slaughterhouse, corrals, 21 pigsties and an infirmary.

On the outskirts of the square there are two statues dedicated to the bullfighters who have most triumphed in the square, highlighting the statue dedicated to Curro Romero, the work of Sebastián Santos Calero and the one dedicated to Manolo Vázquez, by Luis & Álvarez Duarte.

This arena is property of La Real Maestranza de Caballería, a private institution of Sevillian nobility created in the 16th century, which is responsible for maintaining The monument and its museum are in perfect condition, in addition to carrying out activities of a charitable and social nature, promoting equestrian art and supporting bullfighting.

Designed in 1761 by the architect Vicente San Martín and built on the rectangular-shaped bullring called Baratillo. The Real Maestranza de Caballería is the oldest bullring in Spain. Home of the bullfights that take place within the framework of the April Fair of Seville, one of the most popular celebrations in the city. and one of the most visited monuments.  The arena has a capacity for 12,500 seats. The first time it was cut An ear in Seville took place in the bullfight held at the San Miguel Fair in 1915, and the protagonist was Joselito El Gallo.
