This entire complex has a magnificent iconographic program where we contemplate animal species that are sold in the butcher and fish market and other foods that we can purchase at the vegetable and fruit stalls. The Colón market was built between 1914 and 1916 by the architect Francisco Mora Berenguer in the modernist style that prevailed at the beginning of the 20th century to support the central market /strong> of the city in the new bourgeois area of ​​Ensanche that was quite far from it. Today, the building is cataloged as Asset of Cultural Interest and National Monument and after the remodeling it underwent in 2003, it serves as the headquarters of numerous traditional and modern businesses, in addition to other establishments dedicated to the hospitality industry and spaces for holding cultural events.
