This square is surrounded by thirty-four buildings and has four entrances through different streets that give access to this circular space thirty-seven meters in diameter. In the lower area there are commercial premises - in the 19th century they were mostly dedicated to the sale of meat and fish and currently to textiles and souvenirs - and in the upper part there are homes and warehouses. On the first floors we see wrought iron balconies with a continuous railing and in the upper area numerous windows. This space also has a fountain in the center that was installed in the year 1850 and consists of four bronze faces on a cup into which water falls. In addition, we can find a quote written on the ground by the Valencian author Vicente Blasco Ibáñez who refers to this place in his work Arroz y Tartana.< /span>
