The name of the Museum is due to the fact that after the Christian conquest carried out by King Jaume I in the 13th century, he got up a building in this same place called Almoina that had the objective of offering asylum and maintenance to the poor Valencians. Nowadays, the tour of Almoina takes place in a chronological manner. ;gica starting with the origins of the city and its Roman era where we can see the ruins of a sanctuary dedicated to the God Asclepios, a Horreum, some baths and the curia, the basilica and the portico from the imperial era forum. In the second Christian stage, a baptistery, an apse linked to the cult of Saint Vincent and several monumental tombs stand out. From the last Muslim period, remains of the fortress, a water wheel, a patio with a laundry room and part of the city's defensive complex are preserved. Throughout the visit we will walk along a glass walkway that allows us to contemplate the ruins while we will see the remains found such as ceramics, weapons, tombs, sumptuary objects or human remains. span>
