Long description

The church of San Nicolás, also Known as San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir, it is a religious temple located in the place where the church was built. a temple dedicated to pagan deities in Roman times. Later, during the Middle Ages, a temple was built on this site. one of the first Christian parishes in the city managed by the Dominicans and dedicated to Saint Nicholas. Today, he shares devotion with Saint Peter for a miracle that occurred in the temple and which caused a newborn to be savage due to the intervention of this saint. The building was transformed in the mid-15th century in the Gothic style and today we can see a variety of styles inside, which was declared a Historical-Artistic Monument.
