If you want to see the evolution of Madrid from 1561, the year in which Philip II brought the court to Madrid, until 1919, it is essential to visit this museum restored in the century XXI

It has four floors that are distributed according to dates. In the basement we can see two models of Madrid, one from 1656 and   the famous one from 1830 made by León Gil de Palacio, military engineer. The ground floor shows the period from 1561 to 1700. The first floor covers from 1700 to 1814 with the end of the War of Independence and the second and last floor from 1814 to 1919 where you can see the influence that the Industrial Revolution in the city. All accompanied by photographs, historical documents, jewelry, coins, paintings, fans, maps that help understand the evolution of Madrid.

The building was declared a national monument in 1919. It is worth highlighting its chapel from 1695 with the vault painted by Luca Giordano that represents Saint Ferdinand before the Virgin

Currently the chapel is used for conferences, concerts and cultural events

Behind the museum is the Historical Garden. Also called Jardines del Arquitecto Ribera where you can admire the Fountain of Fame made by him himself.
