It is believed that the early Church of the Magdalena served as an example for the construction of the later Fernandino Templessince today it forms a building with numerous additions from later periods, in some cases difficult to date. The oratory with an irregular floor plan is made up of three naves with pointed arches covered by cross vaults and a polygonal head to which light enters through of some semicircular openings and a beautiful rose window located above the main doorway. In the main chapel there is a beautiful carving of Mary Magdalene with a Crucified Christ because the church was erected under the auspices of this Santa.

On the outside the right side cover stands out. strong> decorated withdiamond tip motifs since it is considered the oldest door of all the churches in Córdoba. The Magdalena church also belongs to the medieval complex of the so-called Iglesias Fernandinas with the only difference that it has stopped functioning as a parish and has become a cultural center managed by the Obra Social y Cultural de Cajasur dedicated to the celebration ofexhibitions and cultural activities.

This temple was built in the 13th century in the Plaza de la Magdalena following the Romanesque and Mudejar style present at the time in which it was built, which was later they added other Gothic and baroque parts. The parish was definitively closed to worship in 1956, it was named Asset of Cultural Interest in 1982 and after a serious fire that occurred in 1990, it suffered damage. an important restoration process that has made it possible for us to enjoy its spaces today
