Highights

This wonderful neoclassical temple erected in the city of Córdoba is composed of a circular plan with sixteen columns of Corinthian order around it that support a grandiose hemispherical vault that was designed by the French architect Baltasar Drevetó. n. Unfortunately, this first dome of French origin sank. and it was the famous architect of King Carlos III, Ventura Rodríguez, who reinforced the walls and managed to consolidate it, reaching us in perfect condition.

In its interior there are five altars highlighting the High Altar dedicated to the Patroness of the city, Santa Victoria, with a work made by the famous sculptor Gómez de Sandoval and numerous paintings in other parts of the temple by the neoclassical painter Francisco Agustí n Large. A figure called ""The Secrets"" stands out because even if you speak in a low voice at any of its angles, the person standing at the opposite can hear it without any problem. problem. On the outside it preserves a majestic curved doorway supported by six composite columns, cornice and pediment, inside which the episcopal shield of the founder of the temple, Bishop Francisco Pacheco of Córdoba, is displayed.

The Church of Holy Victory was built at the end of the 18th century< /strong> in neoclassical style by the French architects Luis Gilbert and Baltasar Drevetón and was part of the Colegio de la Santa Victoria, which was the first educational center in Córdoba dedicated to education. ;n of women.
