This hermitage is dedicated to San Antón who tells the legend that he discovered He learned the truth of life through observation of nature and became in the pattern of ranchers and all animals. The best-known event in the Saint's life tells of the healing of a javelin and its blind babies, who stayed by his side forever as a sign of gratitude, for this reason he is represented with a pig on his feet. In the festival of San Antón in Almería celebrated on January 16, they eat and drink in the heat of the bonfires in addition to blessing all the animals in the city and to auction off the traditional ""rabicos"", pig tails decorated with colorful bows. After the Civil War, these auctions were held to finance the restoration of the hermitage that was badly damaged during the air bombings in the city.
