The lighthouse has arectangular plan with a lantern in its upper area composed of a twelve-sided polygon through which the light is reflected, its height is almost ten meters and it rises to 19 meters above sea level. When it lost its use in the mid-20th century, it was transferred to the Roquetas de Mar City Council, which was in charge of its construction. to undertake an important restoration of the property thanks to the funds granted by the European Union for this purpose. Currently, it is one of the cultural venues of the town where different exhibitions and samples are held throughout the year.< /p>

The Roquetas de Mar Lighthouse was built in the year 1863 in the vicinity of the Castle of Santa Ana with the aim of signaling the coastal area to approaching ships. This lighthouse was used as a skylight and home for the person in charge of the city's port area until 1942, at which time the owner of the property, The Public Ports Company of Andalusia, signed the an agreement with the Roquetas de Mar City Council to transfer this building to the city and use it for cultural purposes.
