The moment dedicated to the currency that existed in Spain before the current euro is made of stainless steel and gold brass along with a five-meter-high monolith also built of stainless steel. The effigy of the peseta that stands in Roquetas de Mar has decorative motifs related to the local economy as a sign of gratitude for the economic development that this area had of the Andalusian coast due to tourism and intensive agriculture during the 20th century.

Long description

The cities of Estepona, Fuengirola and Roquetas de Mar have monuments dedicated to the ancient Spanish Peseta currency. In the roquetero case, they wanted to pay tribute in the year 2002 to this missing currency that was in use for 133 years and that is part of the history of our country. This famous sculpture group is located in the median of European Union Avenue, next to the town's Auditorium.
