Designed by the architect Manuel Muñoz Monasterio was inaugurated in 1931 in Mudejar style with exposed brick and ceramic on the shields that represent all the Spanish provinces. The name comes from the area where is located. The building consists of four floors where the  Localities are grouped into 10 lines divided into three zones; sun, shade,  and sun and shade area. Among its facilities it has a bullfighting museum, chapel, the bullfighters' room, the corrals, the infirmary, the skinning room and the offices of the Bullfighting Affairs Center of the Community of Madrid. It houses three cultural rooms and a library with more than 2,000 volumes where exhibitions are held. Outside there are sculptures dedicated to bullfighters such as Antonio Bienvenida, “El Yiyo”, or Dr Fleming who, thanks to the discovery of penicillin, saved the city. many bullfighters from infections caused by bulls' goring. Inside the square, tours are carried out where the most hidden corners are visited, and through a video you can learn curiosities about the fighting bulls. The restaurants around the square offer the famous “ox tail”, a typical stew of the area.
