This avenue takes its name from a historical event that occurred in past centuries when funeral processions crossed it with the objective of reaching the San José cemetery On the opposite hill called Sabika and many of the affected people dedicated their last farewell to those deceased whom they would never see again.

In the < strong>nowadays it is one of the liveliest and most cheerful areas of the city of Granada since from it you can access the famous neighborhoods of the Albaicí ;n and Sacromonte, is full of monuments and museums to visit, there are fourteen bridges that cross the Darro River and it is a mandatory stop to taste the traditional > Granada tapas.

This wonderful avenue that follows the course of the Darro River located between the Arab bridges is known with this peculiar name de las Chirimías and del Aljibillo and which is actually located on the street called Paseo del Padre Manjón.
