During theArab domination of Granada, this area was used as a prison space for Christians. Starting in 1492, the Nasrid city it will be modified, among others, by Queen Isabella the Catholic, who ordered the construction of a chapel in memory of the Christian martyrs. The chapel will be established as a church until it became a convent where the barefoot Carmelites professed until the 19th century, which brought about the destruction of the convent space.
