Highights

During theArab domination of Granada, this area was used as a prison space for Christians. Starting in 1492, the Nasrid city it will be modified, among others, by Queen Isabella the Catholic, who ordered the construction of a chapel in memory of the Christian martyrs. The chapel will be established as a church until it became a convent where the barefoot Carmelites professed until the 19th century, which brought about the destruction of the convent space. Currently, it is a recreational space known as Carmen de los Mártires, where its palace with gardens in English or landscape style stands out, as well as the like the old swimming pool consolidated as a lake with islands for ducks and swans.
