This large architectural complex has a church and two cloisters that were built with stone from the ancient Puerta de Elvira. The church dedicated to the invocation of San Jerónimo has a Latin cross plan and highlights its impressive Mannerist altarpiece located in the Main Chapel that deals with the life of the Great Captain, who rests at its feet. Currently you can visit the lower part of the main cloister where orange trees and chapels proliferate. The Order of the Hieronymites was in charge of this property until the Napoleonic invasion and the religious confiscations ended most of it strong> of the dependencies and turned it into a military barracks. In recent years, a series of renovations and restorations have been carried out that have allowed us to contemplate this wonderful work in all its splendor.
