Highights

This religious building was built between the years 1886 and 1890 by the architect José Secall y Asión who designed an eclectic building of classicist inspiration, following the architectural influences of the moment. On the outside, its large U-shaped façade stands out, decorated with pilasters and pediments alternating between curved and triangular shapes. At the top, the ornate oculi stand out. with keys and garlands surrounded by stipes. This property has been used to perform different functions since at the beginning of theCivil War it was used as Franco's General Headquarters and currently It houses the collection of the Salamanca History Museum where some pieces of enormous interest stand out, with the model of the Salamanca City Hall made by Andrés García de Quiñones, and some objects personal details of the Duke of Wellington and the Salamancan musician Tomás Bretón.

The Episcopal Palace of Salamanca occupies the site of the former residence of the bishops of the city that was demolished in the 19th century, a function that continued ; It was carried out until 1964. After different uses, it currently houses the headquarters of the city's History Museum.
