Highights

The visit will begin with the meeting of the guide at the agreed time and place. A private vehicle will take you there. to “ A place in La Mancha…”: Consuegra.   

We will begin by visiting the interior of the Castillo de la Muela, where the knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem lived. We will listen to the battles that were fought there by touring its rooms, cisterns and walls.  

Continuing along Cerro Calderico, we found what could be the giants that the man fought against. the famous gentleman Don Quixote of la Mancha: the Windmills. Five of them keep their original machinery and we will get to know the interior of one. If the occasion permits, we will go to the Molino Gastrobar to enjoy some La Mancha wines and tapas.

We will go down to the Plaza de España, the center of the town, where the Roman forum was located. The Town Hall, the Clock Tower, andthe “ The corridors form this landscape. Here, before or after entering the Archaeological Museum, you can drink some wines and tapas, buy typical sweets and even taste the famous La Mancha migas.

Long description

Almost 50 mins. From Toledo we find one of the most representative settings of Castilla La Mancha. In Consuegra, on Cerro Calderico, 12 Windmills will take us to the pages of Don Quixote. Next door, the castle-fortress of the 10th century, of Muslim origin, which passed at Christian hands and where they say he died the son of Cid Campeador. And now in the town, in the main square, the “Los Corredores” building, where the Municipal Archaeological Museum is located, which will show us the the Roman past of Consabura (Consuegra), and its historical evolution from the Neolithic until the flood that suffered the town in 1891, one of the great natural disasters in Spain at that time.
