The Museum is located in a restored house from the 18th century, in the old artisan neighborhood of San Felipe Neri where the ovens were located, which since Roman times were used to make vessels . It is a private collection of about 3000 pieces of glass from various periods accompanied by an important representation of pictorial work , furniture and exquisite decoration that immerses us in the authentic domestic context in which its first owners lived.
In the pottery neighborhood of the Muslim and industrial Malaga of the city, the Museum of Glass and Crystal is located. The collector Gonzalo Fernández-Prieto is the promoter of this decorative arts project, whose objective, in his words, is not the public but the artisans. He wanted to create a living entity that would serve as an incentive to rehabilitate the old artisan neighborhood of San Felipe Neri, and a nucleus of reference and study for modern artisans. Today, the museum organizes workshops, concerts and various cultural events.
