Oil paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics and engravings by the Malaga artist can be seen in the rooms of the Buenavista Palace, a Renaissance building that houses the institution ;n, selected to bring together the most relevant aspects of Pablo Picasso#39s artistic legacy.
The Picasso Museum is one of the great art galleries dedicated to the Malaga painter. The artist#39s desire for his work to be in the city of Malaga, the city where he was born. in 1881. Its creation is due to the will of Christine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, daughter-in-law and grandson of the artist, whose donations constitute his art collections.
It houses 233 works that encompass Picasso#39s revolutionary innovations, as well as as a wide variety of material styles and techniques, from the superimposed planes of Cubism to his research with ceramics and from his interpretation of the great masters to the latest paintings of the seventies.
The museum is made up of 11 rooms that cover different themes, such as close people, everyday life or support for the most disadvantaged. Among his works the following stand out: “ Woman with arms raised”, “ Still life with rooster and knife, “ Boy with a shovel” and “ The three Graces” .
Temporary exhibitions, educational and cultural activities, the library and the bookstore complete the museum's artistic proposal.
