The Parc de la Séquia is a non-profit foundation focused on training, >disseminationand above all, the preservation of the natural and cultural environment, around the Canal de la Séquia de Manresa.
Every first Saturday of the month there is a guided tour of the Séquia with optional breakfast. We will tour the last stretch of the Séquia discovering We will learn the history and curiosities of one of the most important hydraulic engineering works in Europe and we will be able to enjoy nature.
La Sèquia is the medieval canal (14th century) that has allowed the growth of Manresa and the agricultural development of a good part of Pla de Bages. Following the path that borders its route, 24Ƌ kilometers with a gradient of only 10 meters, constitutes a truly memorable experience: temples, fortifications, hydraulic works, farmhouses and natural spaces transformed by water They help us understand the roots of this inland territory, the heart of Catalonia. First you will enjoy breakfast on the shore of Lake Agulla with magnificent views of the Montserrat mountains ( optional). Afterwards, you will tour with your guide a small section of the medieval canal, discovering the history of one of the most important hydraulic engineering works in Europe. A flat route of singular beauty through the last stretch of the Séquia for all audiences. On this small excursion you will arrive at Sant iscle, where you will have exclusive access to the ancient Romanesque Church of San Iscle and Santa Victoria.
