Located in a modern and bright building in the Raval, the work of Richard Meier, it exhibits works made during the second half of the 20th century, such as visual arts, dance, cinema, performance, and music among others.
It was built between 1991 and 1995, it is due to the writer and art critic Alexandre Cirici-Pellicer who founded it. and presided the Association of Current Artists, made up of artists, critics and art fans, who contributed to the creation of a collection created on the basis of a project similar to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. They held several traveling exhibitions with works by artists of the time. The sample “ Art and peace” In 1963 it had anti-Franco content and marked the end of Cirici-Pellicer's idea. The collection compiled until then was deposited in the Victor Balaguer Museum of Villanueva y Geltrú, where it can currently be visited.
