On this guided tour you will discover the Cathedral of Toledo, known as the Primate Cathedral, considered one of the most representative works of Gothic architecture in our country. You will be speechless when you contemplate the incredible artistic and historical heritage that it houses inside, which make it the richest cathedral in Spain, which is why it is nicknamed the Dives Toletana (the "rich Toledo"). The majesty of its walls, the spirituality of its interior and the richness of its details make a visit a must.
Centuries of history and the work of multiple artists and architectural styles come together in the Primate Cathedral of Toledo, known in medieval times as Dives Toletana.
You will be amazed by everything your guide will show you: the impressive Monstrance of Enrique de Arfe, known as the Treasury, which goes out in procession through the main streets of the city during Corpus Christi; the exceptional choir stalls; and the incomparable High Altar, with a spectacular altarpiece covered in gold leaf.
The light filtered through the stained glass windows will guide us little by little until we discover a unique work of the Baroque style: the Transparente, made by Narciso Tomé, with the only help of his two sons, in the eighteenth century.
In the Sacristy, we will find the Cathedral Museum , where works by some of the most outstanding painters of the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries are concentrated: El Greco, Goya, Velázquez, Titian, Van Dyck and Caravaggio, among others.
