The Marbella bullring is a historical monument that opened for the first time its doors opened on June 11, 1964. Pedro Martínez (Pedrés), Manuel Benítez (el Cordobés) and Francisco Camino were the bullfighters chosen for this occasion. The bulls came from the prestigious "Antonio Martínez Elizondo" ranch.
Its capacity is about 9,500 spectators, who can access the plaza through eight large doors.
In the past it was used to celebrate bullfights throughout the year. In December 2019, the Marbella City Council began The rehabilitation works of the square are underway with the aim of converting this space into a new place for holding cultural events.
