A dark and terrifying tour of the forms of torture established since the Middle Ages.
What? What is the sambenito, the infamous mask or the ton pilloryl? If you want to know more about all those torture instruments, this is your exhibition in Toledo. A careful selection of 40 pieces between devices and execution machines used by the courts of the Inquisition both Spanish as well as other European countries to obtain confessions from those considered heretics in the time of the Catholic Monarchs.
THE TORTURE OF THE INQUISITION
The garrucha, the guitar, the rack and other tortures in which fire was used are some of the examples used mainly in Spain. Texts and engravings contextualize the exhibition.
