The Center del Carme Contemporary Culture (CCCC) is a space dedicated to current art where numerous exhibitions are held temporary exhibitions of various themes located in the old Royal Monastery of Nuestra Señora del Carmen founded in the year 1281. This historic building was declared a Historical-Artistic Monument National Historic Site in 1983 for having a Gothic cloister, a Renaissance cloister, a refectory, a chapter house and the remains of an Islamic home. Today, the cultural center depends on the Generalitat and is managed by the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community.
In the Center del Carme all types of artistic disciplines of the contemporary world are exhibited, from pictorial arts ;rich, photography exhibitions, theater, opera, music concerts, performances, graphic design, urban art and workshops and courses. In its facilities, it also has a permanent space dedicated to the little ones called ""Espai de Telles"" where they can carry out different cultural activities within a didactic program designed for them.
This eclectic center has been dedicated to culture since it left the city. its religious use in the 19th century, since since that date it has served as the headquarters for the Museum of Fine Arts, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Schools of Fine Arts and Arts and Crafts and famous artists have passed through its rooms. of the stature of Sorolla or Benlliure.
