The Valencian Museum of Illustration and Modernity known as MUVIM is located on the site of the old Hospital of the Innocents - today only the part where the library is located survives and some remains scattered throughout the gardens - in a modern concrete building Designed by architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra and awarded the CEOE Architecture and Dragados awards in 2001.
The MUVIM collection focuses on philosophy and the way of understanding the world around us and how it has evolved from the Middle Ages to our current society emphasizing on the foundations laid by the Enlightenment in Europe. This permanent thematic tour called ""The Adventure of Thought"" offers a chronological journey through Western culture through a Innovative exhibition with numerous technological elements. The importance of this space lies in the fact that it has become a space where we can interact and reflect on past, present and future problems and opportunities. In addition, this cultural center has areas for temporary exhibitions, projection and audiovisual rooms, a library, classrooms for teaching workshops, auditoriums, a cafeteria with a terrace and administrative offices.
