The Rafael Boti Art Center was inaugurated in 2015 in the Cordoba Jewish quarter to publicize the figure of the famous Cordoban artist through a permanent exhibition, in addition to continuing to manage the Arts Biennial Plastics promoted by the Rafael Botí Foundation which since 1998 has selected and awarded young creators. Rafael Botí In 1931 he created the ""Union Association of Plastic Artists"" and wrote the a founding manifesto supporting avant-garde art, an objective that was pursued during all his life. For this reason, the center that bears his name also has a space where you can reflect on contemporary artistic manifestations.
The Art Center is located inside a historic building that has with four floors distributed around a large central courtyard of Muslim tradition with the typical Cordovan enchinado floor and a wonderful reproduction of the flowers that the artist captured in his work ""Flowers in the field"" creating a new space that combines tradition and modernity. In the basement of the property, the archaeological remains found during the renovations have been restored; part of a caliphal era wall and an Almohad sewer have been integrated in the part of the museum reserved for archives and warehouses where, in addition, valuable documentary and bibliographic collections are preserved.
