This museum called Cuevas del Sacromonte is located in the neighborhood that bears its name, in front of the majestic Alhambra complex. In this cultural center we can see the recreation of ten caves where the ways of life and traditional trades of the community are explained who has lived in this place for more than six centuries, emphasizing in its most famous intangible heritage of all time, Flamenco.
During this visit we will be able to enter a cave-dwelling, a cave-kitchen and a cave-stable that will bring us closer to the life of its first inhabitants, mainly gypsies and Muslims, through their everyday objects such as lamps, ceramics, baskets, stoves and looms since the >main economic activities in this neighborhood have always been basket weaving, forging, loom work and pottery. This Ethnographic and Environmental Museum of Sacromonte makes available to visitors a large number of cultural, environmental and educational activities, to publicize and highlight the enormous heritage legacy that the neighborhood and the surroundings of the Sacromonte neighborhood keep.
