La Carrera del Darro is not a museum or a single monument. It's all of this in one. It is a street where you can walk and enjoy the open museum that is the Albaicín neighborhood while you can glimpse the Alhambra complex, we are surrounded by those narrow streets so ;play with the music that the flowing of the Darro River gives us.
You can't leave the Albaicín neighborhood without walking through some of the oldest and most beautiful streets in Granada. It is a trip to the past that unites us to the present. Calle del Darro takes us from the most Andalusian Granada to from narrow and steep Moorish alleys to the new Christian Granada, more Renaissance and Baroque. We must let ourselves flow along its river, walk it calmly so as not to miss any detail of its wrought iron balconies, its stone buildings and the bridges that cross the water connecting with another beautiful neighborhood of the city, the Churra neighborhood. When we reach the Espinosa bridge we must stop. In front of it we will find the Arab Baths of Bañuelo, the oldest in Spain. And a little further on is the Casa del Castril, in Renaissance style and which today houses the Archaeological Museum of the city.
Open 24 hours.
