<p style="text-align: justify;">The Anaya Palace in Salamanca is a historic building <strong>built in the 18th century</strong> to give continuity to a previous one that had been founded beginning of the 15th century by Diego de Anaya, from which its name derives, as the first<strong>College of Residence in Spain</strong> to welcome <strong>students arriving from other parts of the world</strong> to train in different disciplines at the prestigious Salamanca university.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The current building replaced to the <strong>previous</strong> one that resulted It was very <strong>damaged during the Lisbon Earthquake</strong> that occurred in the year 1755. The building was built in the monumental <strong>neoclassical style</strong> typical of its time between the years; os 1760 and 1780 by the architects <strong>José de Hermosilla and Juan de Sagarvinaga.</strong> The exterior of the building stands out for its enormous<strong>classical front composed of four enormous Ionic columns, the pediment, the staircase and the Anaya shield.</strong> strong> In the interior rooms it has a<strong>patio with a double gallery of columns, the cheers written on the walls</strong> of all the Doctors and the bust of the great writer <strong>Miguel de Unamuno. </strong> Currently this palace houses the <strong>headquarters of the Faculty of Philology</strong> of the University of Salamanca.</p>
